About E. Paul Torrance

Scholastic Testing Service, Inc. - Known throughout the world as the “father of creativity,” Dr. E. Paul Torrance dedicated his life’s energies toward developing ways to assess creativity in children and adults. His nearly 60 years of research has become the platform from which much of the research in the field of gifted education is based. Dr. Torrance is perhaps best known as the author of the Torrance® Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT), the most widely used creativity assessment of its kind (see pages 24 and 25 for more information on the TTCT batteries). His creative legacy also continues to touch the lives of students worldwide through his Future Problem Solving Program, which has grown to 300,000 participants each year.

Scholastic Testing Service, Inc.
is proud to offer an array of Torrance assessments for adults and children and will continue to offer “books for creativity” that were influenced by the great legacy of Dr. Torrance.
